Just one hour before our Easter vacation, I had a small session of hangman on the whiteboard. The kids guessed all kinds of letters, but I was very surprised they lasted ´till the very end- they didn´t guessed it before we only missed the letter “M”! Almost the whole class jumped off their chair and ran straight towards me, wanting to give warm hugs along with their congratulations :-) They are so sweet! One even asked me: “When did you get pregnant? Yesterday?!” And one in Aksel´s class even wondered if I, the mother of the child, was aware of the whole fact that I was pregnant, did I know I was becoming a mom?! *Hehehe!* Aren´t they charming?
Another funny thing I have to mention, is that a boy asked me if I knew how I´d get the child out of my stomach. I sensed there could be a creative explanation behind this particular question, so I asked him to enlighten me. Below´s the answer, just in case anyone was unsure *hehe*.
The very same child said that he´d once seen on television about a woman that also was pregnant, so she had too much to do at home. Another woman kind of rescued her by helping out at home, and so the lesson was that I could call a number, starting with 5-5-5 (and then he couldn´t remember the rest). Then this very woman could come to my rescue as well, if ever I would feel in need of it! ;-D Never underestimate what knowledge children has..! At least, this is what yet another boy said this to me when he explained to a fellow student that when a woman is pregnant, she is pregnant not only for a couple of weeks, but actually for nine months!! And he also added that he had much more knowledge about pretty much everything if ever I had any questions for him.. ;-)!!
Besides that, I had a boy proclaiming that it is a good thing women have to go through the whole giving birth- thing, because if boys were to do so, it would be to much pain to handle. Perhaps there´s something to that statement? *Hehe!*
I´ve also gotten a whole bunch of advices on what name to give our child, and I´m actually not joking when I say I think it´s the sweetest thing! Tough the choice completely rest on Aksel and my own´s shoulder, and our only.. ;-)
Working in a school gives me a number of funny, smart, charming quotes along with some of the sweetest souls I´ve met so far in my life, and can you believe, in only a couple of months, Aksel and I will have our own little mini-copy of us? :-) ♥ :-)
